Palm Coast has always been recognized for its “resort-style” approach to coastal life. e com- munity was formed in 1969 by ITT Community Development Corporation (Levitt) as an a ordable destination for retirees from the Northeast and Midwest. 31, 1999, Palm Coast was incorporated as a city and began to provide residents with high-quality services. e city has grown substantially since then and is now recognized as one of the best places to live by CNN, Time.com/Money and USA Today.
e City of Palm Coast works hard to ensure its residents enjoy life to the fullest. Recognized as one of the best-managed cities in the region, Palm Coast provides a wide range of professional services including development services, nancial services, re services, street construction and maintenance, zoning, code enforcement, and management of parks and recreational activities. Palm Coast contracts with the Flagler County Sheri ’s O ce for law enforce- ment services. In 2015, the city moved into a new city hall at the Palm Coast Town Center and added a new re station in the same location.
e city continues to make preservation and protection of environmentally sensitive lands a key goal as it prepares for the future and continues to add new trails, bike paths, and lands for parks and other recreational venues.
High-quality health care is one of the hallmarks of the region, with some of the area’s nest doctors, dentists, surgeons and health care providers calling Palm Coast home. Florida Hospital-Flagler serves the region and has consistently been named one of the top hospitals in the state by the Florida Hospital Association.
In addition, Palm Coast was recently named one of the best places to retire for “water lovers.” e Time.com/Money article listed many of the city’s attributes for retirees looking for the perfect place
to enjoy a waterfront lifestyle, close to the beach,
for less than Palm Beach or Miami.
