e Verhagen’s live in a 3,000-square-foot home on the Intracoastal Waterway. It was the perfect house for them, as they have family who come to visit and they need plenty of room. And, with a home near the water, they get to enjoy the beautiful sunrises and lovely birds that visit them every day.
Both Pat and Bill enjoy shing, spending time at Flagler Beach and all the great dining and shopping just minutes away. “We love how uncrowded the beaches and restaurants are. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. It’s a real pleasure to go out and enjoy a quiet evening,” said Bill Verhagen.
Both Bill and Pat are local business owners in Palm Coast. Bill is a CPA and Financial Planner, and Pat owns an eclectic fabric and quilting shop called Cut Up & Sew. ey have found the local business community very supportive and are active members of the Flagler-Palm Coast Chamber of Commerce.
“We have found it so easy to make friends and business partners here. And we look forward to working with our newfound friends and colleagues to make sure Palm Coast stays the friendliest and most laid-back city in North Florida,” said Bill.

When Pat and Bill Verhagen began to visit their
friends from Indiana who had
Coast in the early 1990s, they knew they had found a “special place to retire, kick back and really enjoy life.” ey tried to spend all their free time visiting the area and nally decided to make the “big move” in the fall of 2008. For awhile, they continued run- ning their small businesses in Indiana, traveling back and forth every two weeks. ey soon realized that winters were feeling much colder in Indiana, and they started to feel more homesick for their Florida life. So, they made the decision to relocate their businesses to Palm Coast in 2012.
“We absolutely love living in Palm Coast and wish we’d moved earlier. Our favorite part is the weather, of course. But there’s so much more to love here too. We enjoy being so close to everything we love doing. We’re real boaters and have our boat right on the Intracoastal Waterway. It makes it so easy to get right out on the water and spend a perfect day shing or just tooling around,” said
Pat Verhagen.
